Recruitment Fairs 2026

In 2026, the Graduate Program in Neuroscience will be attending:
NIH Graduate and Professional School Fair on Wednesday, July 15, 2026. The fair is held in Bethesda, MD (5 miles from Washington, D.C.). Registration opens for students on Monday, May 11th (there is no registration fee).

ABRCMS 2026: November 18-21, Seattle Convention Center (registration is open).

Project Short

Project Short is a free service that offers pro bono mentoring for both professional health and graduate school admissions. Applicants can receive assistance on personal statements, CV, and mock interview prep.

Research Opportunities

There are many opportunities available to prospective applicants who are seeking more research experience before applying to a biomedical PhD. Here are a few:

UW Medicine Biomedical Summer Research for Undergraduates. These Research Experience for Undergraduates (REUs) programs are open to non-UW applicants.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) Research Training Postbac Program: an opportunity for recent college graduates to spend one or two years performing full-time research at the NIH.

Fred Hutch Cancer Center (one of our partner institutions) has a Postbaccalaureate Scholar Program for individuals who would benefit from research experience and training to ensure they are competitive when applying to biomedical PhD programs.

Pathways to Science: offering a directory of 1000+ scholarships, fellowships, internships, and postdoc positions in STEM.
